Scholastic Story Starters Tutorial for Families
Scholastic Story Starters: http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/
This is a generator to provide story starters for students in order to write a creative story. Once on the website, students are able to choose between four categories: adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, or a scrambler. Once your child chooses a story starter, they will spin a wheel in order to get an overall writing prompt that is scaffolded into four categories. Once the prompt has been selected, children can choose the format of the story: notebook, letter, newspaper or postcard. Within each format, there is a space for children to type in their response along with a space to draw a picture.
